International Movement of 71 Textile Masterpieces to Moscow

fine art logistics

Star Worldwide Group successfully managed the international movement of 71 fragile textile artworks from the National Crafts Museum & Hastkala Academy to the Tsaritsyno Museum-Reserve. The project involved transporting historically significant textile pieces that required highly specialized handling due to their sensitivity to moisture, fibre stress, light exposure, and creasing.

Before the shipment, our Fine Arts team conducted a detailed assessment of each textile to determine the most suitable conservation-safe packing methodology. The artworks were carefully prepared using archival-grade materials designed to prevent fabric strain and environmental exposure during transit. Each piece was then placed in custom-built, museum-grade crates engineered to maintain stability and minimize movement throughout the journey.

To ensure optimal preservation, the shipment was moved using climate-controlled transport, maintaining stable temperature and humidity levels across the entire route. Our team coordinated closely with logistics partners and institutional stakeholders to manage the international documentation, shipment handling, and compliance procedures required for cross-border movement of cultural artefacts.

Throughout the process, strict condition monitoring protocols were followed to safeguard the textiles during loading, transit, and final delivery. Upon arrival in Moscow, the artworks were carefully unpacked and prepared for their next stage of display and institutional handling.

This project highlights Star Worldwide Group’s expertise in international museum logistics, demonstrating our ability to manage delicate heritage collections across continents while maintaining the highest standards
