Star Worldwide Group is undertaking a major art collection-management project for DLF Limited, one of India’s largest real estate companies, covering more than 4,000 artworks across 35 locations in India. The ongoing project brings together Star’s specialist Fine Art expertise with digital technology to create a more accurate and accessible record of DLF’s extensive corporate art collection.

As part of the current phase, Star’s teams are physically verifying artworks across DLF locations, undertaking visual condition reporting, photographing each work and confirming key inventory and location information. The exercise is being carried out using the RedSky Condition Reporting mobile application, enabling information to be captured digitally at the artwork during the verification process. An important aspect of the project has been the identification of additional artworks that were not previously part of the existing barcoded inventory. These works are being documented and incorporated into the collection records, bringing the overall scope of the project to more than 4,000 artworks. The physical verification exercise will also provide the foundation for a broader collection-management solution through the RedSky platform.

In the next phase, authorised DLF users are expected to be able to access their collection digitally, view artwork details, photographs, locations and condition information, and progressively maintain documents and activity records associated with individual artworks. Over time, this could include documentation relating to acquisitions, condition reports, movements, installations, transportation, conservation and maintenance, providing a more comprehensive digital record of the collection.
The project reflects Star Worldwide Group’s growing focus on combining its traditional Fine Art capabilities with technology to help corporate collectors and institutions manage complex collections more effectively.
