Star Worldwide Group has it's origins sometime in the late 50s, when Mr. J.N Mithal, present Chairman of the Board of Star Worldwide Group, who at the time, while being primarily involved in travel and general cargo freight forwarding services, started to provide value addition to his Customers, by taking care of the logistics and transportation of their personal & household effects that needed to be packed & shipped, pioneering, in India, the concept of "Door to Door" international moving.

In 1975, Al Mithal, present Managing Director of Star, joined the business after having completed his studies & training in Transportation & Traffic Management in Washington, D.C., USA.

In 1994, India, which had till then been a primarily closed economy, opened it's door to foreign investment and the major economic reforms and liberalisation that followed, saw the influx of major multi-national corporations from around the world. Many of the Fortune 500 companies started investing into India and they required a comprehensive and diverse range of services to quickly and smoothly settle their executives and families in India, a hitherto relatively unknown region in Corporate moving.

To avail these increasing market opportunities and cater to the extremely high levels of comprehensive relocation services expected by these large multi-national corporations required, in 1995, Star Worldwide made a major strategic decision to focus exclusively on the international relocations business.
